The Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth will be celebrating the season with special events.
The museum is hosting the Duluth Historical Society’s 3rd Annual Festival of Trees. The event, featuring more than two dozen community-sponsored and decorated trees, will be open during museum operating hours from Nov. 18 through Dec 31.
Santa Claus arrives on Nov. 18, and Jingle Bell Dancers from Miss Cindy’s Dance Studio will welcome the big man as he rolls in on a special train. On Dec. 2 and Dec. 9, guests can enjoy breakfast or lunch with Santa during a meet-and-greet that also includes a craft, a hayride and a train ride with Santa.
Polar Express Experience returns on Saturdays starting Nov. 25. The event offers attendees the unique opportunity to watch the “Polar Express” movie in an authentic train car.
Designated “Georgia’s Official Transportation History Museum,” the museum displays more than 90 pieces of historic railroad equipment, buses and artifacts that bring to life the region’s transportation history.
Regular museum admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 and older and $7 for children between the ages of two and 12 years old. Breakfast with Santa tickets and Polar Express Experience are $18.
The museum hosts a series of special events throughout the year. For more information, visit SoutheasternRailwayMuseum.org.
