Drake placed on Wall of Honor at the Southeastern Railway Museum

The Atlanta Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (NRHS) has honored Richard “Dick” Drake with a place on the Wall of Honor at the Southeastern Railway Museum.

Drake, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel who worked as a civil engineer, played an instrumental in laying out the track for the museum’s park train. As part of his efforts, he conducted an engineering study to submit to the state regarding the use of lag bolts and washers as an alternative to spikes.

Drake’s family requested that donations be made to the Southeastern Railway Museum as memorials.
